Initial Assessment

NILD recommends that learning disabilities be diagnosed through a battery of tests that measure a student’s potential against their actual performance. This battery includes a (WISC-IV) test, which is administered by a state licensed individual and is used to determine student potential. This test assesses the way a student takes in, processes, and expresses information. (A separate fee is charged for the WISC-IV.)

Additional Tests are given by Discovery Center personnel which assess the student’s current academic skills. From this information, recommendations are made for the appropriate educational intervention. A report is given and a one-hour conference helps explain the findings of both assessment tools. The fee for this portion of the assessment is $200.00
