Second grade
America’s freedoms, symbols, people, holidays, patriotic songs, map skills, native Americans, Pilgrims, Colonial Americans, pioneers, cowboys, immigrants and new Americans.

Third grade
A study of our American heritage through the lives of great people from the 1400’s through 1935; research paper written on assigned historical character; state’s study includes a small project on a state.

Fourth grade
Map skills, geography, native Californians, explorers and settlers, California missions, The Gold rush, statehood, growth of California, California government, California cities, California: A Leader Among States

Fifth grade
Memorize states and capitals; Discovery and exploration of America; Native Americans, Colonization; Colonial life; The Great Awakening; The French and Indian War; The American Revolution; The Civil War; Westward expansion; The Industrial Revolution; Advances in technology; Geography and map skills; report on a state, president, or historical figure.

Sixth grade
