Student athletes should practice fair play, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, good citizenship, integrity and obedience to rules. Athletes will represent in perception and practice, the appreciation for athletic excellence and the shared educational experiences of competition. A coach or team shall never leave the playing area until the contest is completed. Treat opponents with respect. Respect judgment of contest official, abide by rules of the contest and display no behavior that could incite fans. Cooperate with officials, coaches and fellow participants to conduct a fair contest. Accept seriously the responsibility and privilege of representing school and community; display positive public action at all times. Live up to high standards of sportsmanship established.
The sports participant must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and have no F's at all times throughout the season for the academic subjects. This grade point average is computed by assigning letter grades the same numerical value as the honor roll.
Participation on an athletic team involves discipline and willingness to make sacrifices. For this reason, those who wish to participate in sports at Eastside must be willing to abide by the grooming standards set by the dress code and administration.
A student must be in full-day attendance on the day of the game, function or activity in order to participate in that game, function or activity. Extenuating circumstances resulting in an excused absence on said day must have the Principal's permission for participation.
