When our staff determined what our expected schoolwide learning results would be, it seemed obvious that our entire purpose was to train our students, as is suggested in Scripture, to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.” To this end, Eastside Christian High School and Junior High operates a comprehensive high school and junior high program in a shared facility on the west side of Fullerton. With large classrooms, cafeteria, gymnasium, science labs and computer lab on site, Eastside occupies property owned by Grace Ministries International, and leases local city fields for outdoor sports. Both the junior high and high school are WASC accredited, and high school courses are UC approved.

The teaching staff averages 2.7 years of experience at Eastside, while the administration averages 5.4 years here. The administration has remained stable, all of whom have been in their current positions for at least four years, and been on staff at Eastside for eight years or more.

Our student body consists of slightly more boys than girls (53% boys to 47% girls). Our 9th –12th grade classes boast a 14:1 student/teacher ratio, while junior high is 24:1. More than 50% of our seniors apply to 4-year universities each year, and all have received acceptances at a college of choice.

Of our 20 teaching and administrative staff members, 6 hold Masters’ Degrees, and all are highly qualified in their area of instruction. All are practicing Christians who are required to attend local evangelical churches. Our staff is bright and enthusiastic, self-sacrificing and compassionate. This dynamic has had a positive effect both on our students and on the community spirit in our staff. Our teachers conduct classes in the following areas: math, English, science, Bible, history, physical education, visual and performing arts, Spanish (both in junior high and high school), business and technology, and electives including Yearbook, and ASB.

Our students focus once a week on a chapel service, coordinated by the Chaplain, and often directed by students. Made up of junior high students for Junior High Chapel, and high school students for High School Chapel, a worship team leads the worship set. Following chapel, each staff member leads 8-10 young men or women in a small group time. This core Group time is representative of the emphasis here at Eastside: our purpose is to train our students to excel personally and academically in an environment where their own spiritual growth is stretched and nurtured. Our future is in our youth, and our investment is to see this generation serve as ambassadors for Christ in an increasingly unreceptive world.
