Junior High Business Applications
Text: Learning Keyboarding & Word Processing with Microsoft Word 2000, 1999.

This course was designed for 7th and 8th graders who need to learn how to touch type. Students learn to use the functions of Microsoft Word and Excel on the computer at the same time as they learn to type letters, numbers, and other important keys without looking at their hands. It is a one-semester course.


Business Applications

Entrepreneurship
Students in this elective will explore the financial, commercial and ethical responsibility of owning their own business. These budding entrepreneurs will conduct informal market research, design a marketing plan, “create” a business, analyze financial statements, evaluate risks as the make credible decisions.


Personal Finance
A semester course designed to introduce students to managing money and investments for a secure, productive adult life.


Business Communications
Students will explore the various communication skills necessary in business. Strategies include interview techniques, resume writing, formal and informal speeches, letter writing.


Introduction to Information Technology
This class introduces students to the multitude of areas in technology. The focus will be getting an overview of several areas of technology including: networks, Hardware, Software, OS, Internet, Intranet, etc.


Media Production
This course is designed to have students create from scratch an entire video movie. The students will utilize industry standard software and hardware to complete their movie.
