Bible 8 (Loving God, Loving His Word, Loving Others)
Text: Holy Bible; Student Relationships, Dawson McAllister

Students will be challenged to deepen their relationship with God by knowing Him more fully and being equipped to confidently defend their faith. Through various activities, students will learn how to study and interpret Scripture and utilize Bible study tools effectively. Study of the New Testament and expanding the Christian worldview are also part of the course. By studying relationships based on Scripture, students will gain a Godly view on relationships with Him, with self, with parents, in friendship, in dating and in times of temptation.

Biblical Survey (Bible 9)
Text: The Holy Bible (NIV)

This Old Testament Survey class will have students learn the major characters of the Old Testament, learn and practice spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, Scripture memorization, prayer, service and journaling. They will also focus on how Old Testament teachings are applied to modern life, and how the prophecies relate to the New Testament.

Life of Christ, Missions, Spiritual Disciplines (Bible 10)
Texts: The Holy Bible (NIV); Harmony of the Gospels, Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life, by Donald Whitney.

Students will explore a variety of ethical issues from Biblical and philosophical perspectives, learning to critically determine a personal value system with a Christian worldview despite contemporary influences. Students will also engage in a variety of activities and experiences in spiritual disciplines to encourage spiritual growth. These include Bible intake (reading, studying, memorizing), prayer, meditation, journaling, fasting, silence/solitude, serving, stewardship, accountability, and evangelism. Students will also understand missions through study of evangelism throughout history and preparation for a weekend missions experience.

Bible Doctrines and World Religions (Bible 11)
Texts: The Holy Bible (NIV); The Compact Guide to World Religions, by Dean Halverson; Mormonism, by Kurt Van Gordon; Jehovah’s Witnesses, by Robert Bowman.

The first semester will cover the basic Christian beliefs on such topics as the Bible, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, sin, salvation, angels/demons, service, and end times. The focus will be on students’ developing personal reasons for why they accept (or reject) Christianity.

The second semester, World Religions, will cover the teachings of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, New Age, Mormonism, and Jehovah’s Witnesses. We will also emphasize methods of evangelism to these various religions. Additionally, we will analyze the similarities and differences between Catholicism and Protestantism.

Modern Worldviews and Apologetics (Bible 12)
Texts: The Holy Bible (NIV); Understanding the Times, by David Noebel, No Doubt, by Winifred Corduan; Jesus Under Fire edited by Michael Wilkins and J.P Moreland.

Modern Worldviews will contrast the Biblical Christian worldview with the humanist worldviews of secular humanism and cosmic humanism, with an emphasis on understanding why other people believe so strongly in no-Christian philosophies.

Apologetics will focus upon a defense of the Christian beliefs of the existence of God, the accuracy of the Bible, the miracles and resurrection of Jesus, and a response to the existence of evil in this world, using logic, science and Scripture.
