Social Development

Through peer interactions children come to understand social norms and expectations as well as universal rules that underlie all peer relations.  Children practice expressing feelings, needs and opinions in an environment conducive to social growth.

Dramatic play provides children with the foundation for a range of skills that will be used later in life. Children think, speak, and act symbolically and in conjunction with others.  Each child takes cues from his or her partner in dramatic play and responds accordingly.

The outdoor environment is an important part of the total learning experience and provides learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.  Such opportunities provide children with an interest and desire to explore their world and the things that live and grow in it.
