"Eastside Christian has been a blessing for us and our children. The faculty and staff have become an extended family and provide our children with the love, patience and care that they require."
      Stacy Maggio
"Eastside has been a blessing for our family. From the Infant Center through Pre-K, the entire Eastside Preschool family has gently encouraged our children to grow in an environment that engages their creativity and sense of discovery. Their lives have been enriched in ways that have not only instilled self condidence, but have provided them with a solid foundation."

Welcome

I know how difficult it is to support your child as he or she completes junior high and high school when you are not familiar with the process or what to expect.   It can be an overwhelming process.  So, that is where I come in.  It is my job to demystify that process for you by providing parents and students with a road map to where they ultimately want to get.  Given our small student population, I am blessed that I have the opportunity to establish personal relationships with both parents and students.

Counseling Services

Philosophy: The counseling department offers academic guidance, support counseling, and Christ-centered programming/services to all students.  We strive to foster programs which enhance faith development and encourage integration of faith in daily living.  We believe integration of faith is integral and necessary as our students grow and develop in academic/educational, college/career, and personal/social domains.  The counseling office is located on the second floor, and I am on campus Monday thru Friday 7:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Services: Eastside’s counseling office helps our students and their families feel as if they have designed and implemented a direct and appropriate journey for their next academic adventure.  As such, students and their families are asked not to focus too much on what they think or hear “looks good to colleges.” Rather, we encourage students to become fully involved in the academic, social and extracurricular life of Eastside during their four years in upper school and to develop individual interests for which they have a passion. This way, the college process becomes a natural part of a student’s life, and not the all-consuming focus of his or her entire upper school experience.  Services provided to our students are:
  • Individual and spiritual counseling
  • Four year plans;
  • Career Search and Career Assessments
  • Quarter/Semester credit and grade checks;
  • Assist student with college decision making process, including counseling sessions to help students find a college, university that is right for them
  • Coordinate and chaperone trips to colleges and universities;
  • Provide workshops for parents and students to answer questions related to financial aid and filling out the FAFSA in order to receive institutional, state, and federal aid;
  • Maintain and update the Scholarships Booklet to help with college expenses;
  • Maintain and update the Volunteer Opportunities Booklet (all students are required to complete fifteen hours per semester;
  • Workshops for students on the nuts and bolts of the college applications and deadlines;
  • Counsel students regarding relevant testing (PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, etc)
