University of California, Los Angeles: B.A. in English Literature and Minor in Mathematics
California State University, Long Beach: Single Subject Teaching Credential in English
I decided to become an English teacher because I wanted to serve as a doorman guiding the students to explore the different perspectives and experiences of our world, beyond the everyday, daily encounters. Opening a text to read, analyze, and construct a thorough response guarantees not only the essential skills of language that are at the heart of becoming successful contributors in college and beyond but also the art of critical thinking. Through the various observations and discussions we share in the classroom, I hope students are better equipped to make informed and logical decisions in life.

Favorite Bible verse:
“Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.”
